Trump claimed that the US economy was the strongest in history during his presidency (2017-2021), saying that “we did a great job, and now we are doing even better.” The rally in Michigan, the heart of America’s auto industry and a politically decisive state, was the largest since President Trump was sworn in on January 20. Trump also criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, saying he was not doing justice to his position. Trump said that in recent months the American people have been concerned about economic policies due to the continued rise in inflation and tariffs imposed on countries around the world.
Thousands of people attended the rally in Warren, which is also home to General Motors’ technology center. Trump said he is committed to putting America on the path of economic growth and that his critics should acknowledge his achievements.
