The True Post (Web News) The G7 summit will be held in Canada on June 2, and the Canadian military and security agencies have stepped up preparations.
Royal Canadian Air Force jets and military helicopters are flying in formation over the Kananaskis area to enforce security measures. The summit will run from June 15 to 17, and road restrictions and various security measures will be in place during the summit. Summit locations in Kananaskis will be restricted, with entry restricted to authorized personnel, residents and businesses, and some trails, day-use areas and local businesses will be closed. Regarding security, Integrated Safety and Security Group (ISSG) spokesperson Fraser Logan says military vehicles, helicopters and jets will fly in formation at low altitudes to ensure security during the summit.
He said that there will be no restrictions on Highway 1 from Banff to the national parks, and travel can continue as usual, however, measures may be taken in the form of temporary closures or speed reductions on Highway 40. Military personnel will also be deployed at various locations, and military vehicles may be seen in the wild areas, but this will not cause any inconvenience to the general public. According to police officials, about 70 official guests, 2,000 delegates, and 1,400 journalists will be present in the area between Calgary and Kananaskis for the meeting. US President Donald Trump has also been confirmed to attend. Security arrangements regarding restrictions and road closures have been tightened to ensure the security of the meeting and avoid any emergency situation.
