Bagram Air Base: Us Attempt To Return To Afghanistan, A Challenge Or Pressure To China?

The True Post (Web News) Negotiations are ongoing between the United States and Afghan authorities regarding the redeployment of American troops to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

US President Donald Trump, speaking to the media in the Oval Office, said that the United States should not have left Bagram Air Base and now his government is trying to take back this strategic base. President Trump said that the importance of Bagram Air Base is clear from the fact that this place is just an hour away from where China develops its nuclear weapons. According to him, the United States should not only maintain its presence in Afghanistan, but also activate this base to prevent China’s growing influence. On the other hand, Afghan officials say that the Afghan people have never accepted the presence of foreign troops on their soil and the return of Bagram Air Base will raise questions about Afghan sovereignty.
According to the American newspaper report, the deployment of a limited number of troops to this base is currently being considered, and the ongoing negotiations in this regard are being led by US Special Representative Adam Buhler. It should be noted that the US handed over Bagram Air Base to the Afghan authorities after 20 years on the occasion of the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan in 2021. However, President Trump has announced the resumption of the weapons left behind during the withdrawal and Bagram Air Base, as a result of which formal negotiations have now begun between the US and Afghanistan. According to political analysts, this move by the US will not only give rise to a new conflict in Afghanistan, but will also further inflame the already existing tension between China and the US.
