Suicide Tendencies Are Increasing Among Chatgpt Users, Psychologists Reveal

The True Post (Web News) psychologist has warned that the trend of excessive interaction and seeking advice from artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots is increasing at an alarming rate.

Due to which people are becoming socially isolated, mentally weak and emotionally unbalanced. According to foreign news agencies, a blog post released by Open AI revealed that every week more than one million ChatGPT users send messages that contain clear indications of possible suicidal intent or plans. Experts
say that such people are not only at risk of increasing mental stress and anxiety, but their decision-making ability is also affected. Psychologist Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi said in a conversation that the correct and limited use of artificial intelligence has many benefits, however, its unnecessary and excessive use is creating dangerous consequences. According to him, people no longer communicate with each other as before, which is weakening their mental capacity. If the brain is not used, it loses its potential.
He said that in the past, children used to receive physical and mental training, but in today’s era, everything is being done by machines and now through AI, which is affecting brain power. Constant sitting and lack of physical activity also reduce the amount of the chemical dopamine that produces happiness, which increases depression.
Dr. Afridi said that there is no feeling, empathy or truth in conversations with AI chatbots. When a person shares his problems with a human, emotions are involved, but the mechanical conversation of chatbots pushes a person further into loneliness and despair.
He said that excessive dependence on AI also leads to wrong advice, because the machine does not have the ability to understand human emotions. This results in reduced speaking skills and vocabulary, which increases mental stress and depression.
He warned that the inappropriate use of AI also affects physical health, such as lack of sleep, weight gain, the effects of blue light on the eyes, irritability and increased dependence on screens. According to him, we should keep screen time to less than two hours per day, avoid the use of unnecessary chatbots and spend time in physical activities.
Psychologist Dr. Asma Ahmed said that chatbots definitely have some benefits, but their excessive use is taking the form of addiction. People have become accustomed to getting instant answers, due to which they are losing the ability to think and make decisions for themselves. She said that now people seek advice from AI instead of a doctor even for minor symptoms, which is a dangerous trend. This is weakening social relationships, even when people are sitting together, they are busy with their mobile phones instead of talking.

Dr. Asma Ahmed revealed that some people have become so addicted to chatbots that they feel an emotional attachment to them by giving them names, although artificial intelligence has no feelings. According to her, this trend is also promoting narcissism, in which a person likes to listen only to himself and consider his own opinion to be correct. She said that such people should immediately consult a psychologist, otherwise this behavior can turn into a psychological disorder. She stressed that there is no alternative to humans, emotional connection can only be established with a human, not with a machine.
