Pakistan Is Our Friendly Country, We Do Not Trust America, We Will Reserve The Right To Defend Ourselves, Iran Says

The True Post (Web News) Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iran has stepped up its diplomatic and defense stance.

Once again, it has made it clear that it supports efforts for peace in the region, but it does not trust some world powers. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said in a recent interview that Iran considers its relations with Pakistan positive and friendly. According to him, Tehran believes that Pakistan is playing a sincere role in reducing tensions in the region and its intentions are benevolent. The spokesman said that the Iranian Foreign Minister is in constant contact with various countries in the region, especially neighboring states, to improve the current situation. He also confirmed that several countries have offered to mediate between Iran and the United States, but Iran has not yet initiated any direct negotiations.
According to Esmail Baqai, Iran has had a bitter experience with American diplomacy in the past, due to which Tehran no longer considers American statements and assurances to be credible. Similarly, Iran’s stance on Israel is tough, calling it a cause of instability in the region. He made it clear that Iran will not compromise on its sovereignty and right to defense. If the country’s critical infrastructure is targeted, there will be “serious and immediate consequences,” and the Iranian armed forces will respond forcefully.
Meanwhile, global attention is once again focused on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital sea route for global oil shipments. The Iranian spokesman said that specific regulations have been imposed on the passage in view of the current situation. According to him, countries that are not involved in any action against Iran can continue to sail safely after contacting Iranian authorities. According to foreign media, it is not yet clear whether Iran is charging any fees from ships passing through this route, but various proposals are under consideration in the Iranian parliament on this issue. According to analysts, Iran’s recent statement reflects its dual strategy, in which on the one hand, diplomatic relations with regional countries are being strengthened, while on the other hand, a strong defensive stance is being adopted in view of possible threats
