The True Post (Web News) Iran has rejected reports of any attack on Saudi Arabia and said that it is continuing diplomatic contacts and negotiations with the United States through the mediation of Pakistan.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a media briefing that Iran has neither targeted Saudi Arabia nor is it interested in increasing tensions in the region. He said that some reports and claims are not based on reality and are aimed at creating more uncertainty in the region.
The spokesman, while discussing the ceasefire issue, alleged that the US was clearly violating the ceasefire agreement. He said that Iran respected the terms of the ceasefire and implemented it fully, but the other side was not adhering to it.
He said: “We were and are committed to the ceasefire, but its violations by the US are clear. In such a situation, the responsibility lies with the parties who are not keeping their promises.” According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, despite the tension, diplomatic channels have not been completely closed and contacts and negotiations with the US are ongoing under the mediation of Pakistan. The spokesman described Pakistan’s role as positive and said that Islamabad has made constructive efforts to reduce tensions in the region and advance the negotiation process.
Iran stressed that the solution to the current conflicts lies not in military operations but in diplomacy, negotiations and mutual respect. Tehran says that progress is possible for peace and stability in the region if all parties show seriousness. On the other hand, there was no immediate official response from the US to the Iranian allegations. According to observers, the ongoing contacts under the mediation of Pakistan could prove to be an important step towards reducing the growing tension in the region.
