CALGARY: Calgary Police have laid multiple criminal charges against a 41-year-old man accused of secretly installing hidden cameras inside rental homes, including bedrooms and bathrooms, raising serious concerns about tenant privacy and safety.
The investigation began on June 8, 2026, after tenants discovered suspicious hidden recording devices inside their rental units. Following the complaints, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in southwest Calgary, where several electronic storage devices were seized for forensic examination.
According to police, evidence gathered during the investigation indicates that similar hidden cameras may also have been installed at another rental property in northwest Calgary.
The accused, Sooryong Park, also known as Nick Park, has been charged with one count of break and enter and five counts of voyeurism. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2026.
Investigators are also examining whether similar offences may have occurred at rental properties owned or managed by the accused in Vancouver, Toronto, and other Canadian cities. Police believe there may be additional victims and have indicated that women from the Korean community may have been specifically targeted.
Calgary Police are urging anyone with information about the case, or anyone who believes they may have been affected, to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional charges may be laid if further evidence is uncovered.
