Iran has claimed it launched retaliatory attacks targeting U.S. military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan, following what it described as the sixth consecutive day of U.S. airstrikes.
According to the Iranian military, drone attacks targeted U.S. helicopters and surveillance aircraft stationed at Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain. Iranian officials also claimed that one of their drones struck a U.S. missile defense battery in Kuwait, producing large plumes of smoke in the area.
However, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense disputed the claims, stating that its armed forces detected 32 drones entering the country’s airspace and successfully intercepted and destroyed them before they reached their intended targets.
Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi said the drones were aimed at several critical facilities across Kuwait. He added that debris from the intercepted drones fell in residential areas, causing limited property damage but no reported fatalities.
The ministry emphasized that Kuwait’s armed forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to safeguard the country’s security, citizens, and foreign residents.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted a missile aimed at the country. Officials said one child was injured after debris from the intercepted missile fell to the ground and that medical treatment was immediately provided.
Iran also claimed that missiles were launched toward an airbase in Jordan, although Jordanian authorities had not immediately confirmed the allegation at the time of publication.
The reported exchange comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing military confrontations involving Iran and the United States. Independent verification of the battlefield claims from either side remains limited, and official statements continue to differ regarding the scale and impact of the reported attacks.
