Web Desk: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that U.S. forces have completed a ninth consecutive night of military operations targeting Iranian military infrastructure, while reports of explosions have emerged from several cities across Iran. The developments mark another escalation in the ongoing regional conflict, although several of the reported strikes have not been independently verified.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster, at least three explosions were heard in the western part of Tabriz late Sunday night. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show large fires and thick smoke rising from parts of the city. Iranian authorities, however, have not released official information regarding the cause of the explosions or the extent of any damage.
Unconfirmed reports from non-government sources claimed that missile facilities near Tabriz were targeted during the attacks. The same military sites have reportedly been struck in previous Israeli and U.S. operations, although officials have not confirmed the latest claims.
Iran’s official news agency IRNA, citing local authorities, also reported explosions in the southeastern cities of Chabahar and Konarak. No casualties or damage assessments have been released, and authorities have not confirmed whether the explosions resulted from military strikes or other incidents.
Meanwhile, media reports indicated that an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facility in Khormuj, located in Iran’s Bushehr Province, may also have been targeted. However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian officials regarding the reported strike.
In a statement, CENTCOM said U.S. forces targeted a wide range of Iranian military assets, including command and control centers, air defense systems, coastal surveillance facilities, naval capabilities, missile launch sites, drone infrastructure, and military communication networks.
According to the U.S. military, the operations are intended to further reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime trade routes.
CENTCOM added that U.S. forces are continuing operations under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief and remain fully alert, mission-focused, and prepared to respond to any further developments in the region.
The latest military activity comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, with international observers closely monitoring the situation over concerns that continued hostilities could further destabilize the region and impact global energy markets.
