The Ture Post (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has sparked fresh political debate after claiming that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is one of the most powerful members of the federal cabinet and, in many matters, is “not even answerable to the prime minister.”
Speaking during a private television talk show, Khawaja Asif questioned Mohsin Naqvi’s role within the government, saying that despite serving as interior minister, he does not appear to function as a regular member of the cabinet.

Khawaja Asif said he has seen Mohsin Naqvi attend only two or three cabinet meetings and noted that the interior minister has rarely appeared in Parliament.

Referring to Mohsin Naqvi’s recent remarks criticizing Pakistan’s administrative system, Khawaja Asif said that if a senior government minister is expressing dissatisfaction with the system, it should prompt serious reflection within the government.
He added that if those in power believe the system is not functioning effectively, they should also examine their own responsibilities and performance.
