THE TRUE POST (Web News): Spanish pastry chef Marc Suarez has created an extraordinary cake for a royal wedding involving a Saudi family. The massive creation weighs approximately 500 kilograms, stands 3.5 metres tall and is 1.8 metres wide.
The spectacular cake was presented at the historic Opéra Garnier in Paris for the wedding of a Saudi couple. The bride and groom requested that their identities remain private.
One and a Half Months to Develop the Concept
According to Marc Suarez, it took around one and a half months to develop the initial concept for the unusual cake. Turning the idea into reality required another four months of work.
A project of this size and complexity could not have been completed by one person alone. Suarez therefore received assistance from several pastry-chef friends, their families and other helpers.
In total, approximately 1,800 hours of work went into creating the giant cake, highlighting the enormous amount of skill and effort involved.
33,000 Flower Petals Added to Its Beauty
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was preparing the thousands of flower petals used to decorate the cake.
Approximately 33,000 flower petals were used in the elaborate design.
The petals were carefully prepared, coloured and then arranged with branches and flowers across the cake. The intricate decoration transformed the enormous structure into what looked more like an elaborate work of art than a traditional wedding cake.
Professional pastry chefs, Suarez’s friends, family members and other assistants all contributed to the painstaking work.
Far More Than an Ordinary Wedding Cake
The giant cake was designed to give viewers the impression of an exhibition piece or museum artwork rather than simply a dessert.
Its extraordinary height, enormous structure and thousands of decorative flowers gave it a distinctive appearance. The project combined advanced pastry-making skills with artistic creativity and detailed craftsmanship.
Presented at Paris’s Opéra Garnier
The 500-kilogram cake was presented at Paris’s historic Opéra Garnier during the Saudi couple’s wedding ceremony.
Although the bride and groom chose not to reveal their identities, the cake’s extraordinary size and elaborate design became one of the highlights of the event.
Marc Suarez is already known for creating complex and luxurious cake designs. However, he said this project was among the largest and most challenging creations of his career.
Months of Work Behind the Masterpiece
The creation of the spectacular cake involved months of planning, the preparation of thousands of flower petals and approximately 1,800 hours of work.
The final result became a major attraction at the wedding because of its remarkable size and artistic design.
The 500-kilogram masterpiece not only added a unique touch to the wedding celebration but also demonstrated the extraordinary possibilities of modern pastry art.
