A Vancouver police officer, prominent anti-gang advocate and chief executive officer of the Kids Play Youth Foundation, Call Dosanjh, has been arrested and charged with theft, fraud and breach of trust in connection with alleged financial misconduct.
Dosanjh was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday. According to court documents filed in the case, he faces multiple charges involving fraud and theft of property valued at more than $5,000.
The charges relate to alleged misconduct involving several property development projects as well as his own charitable organisation.
Alleged Fraud in Property Development Projects
According to court documents, Dosanjh is accused of defrauding investors and stealing money in connection with the development and construction of several properties.
The projects identified in the documents include the Azura, Queens Park and Sahara development projects. The alleged offences are said to have occurred between January 13, 2017, and October 31, 2024.
Sarbjit Singh Gill has also been named as a co-accused in the case.
Court records filed with the British Columbia Supreme Court indicate that Dosanjh and Gill have been business partners in several property projects. A number of civil lawsuits connected with those projects have previously been before the courts.
Both men have denied allegations made against them in those civil proceedings.
Foundation Founded by Dosanjh Also Subject to Charges
Dosanjh is also facing two charges related to the Kids Play Youth Foundation, an organisation he founded.
According to the charge documents, he is accused of fraud and theft involving more than $5,000 belonging to the foundation.
The alleged offences involving the organisation are said to have occurred between December 8, 2017, and July 25, 2025.
The Kids Play Youth Foundation has focused on keeping young people away from criminal activity by encouraging them to participate in sports and other community-based programmes.
More Than Two Decades With Vancouver Police
Dosanjh has been associated with the Vancouver Police Department for more than two decades.
During his career as a police officer, he has spoken publicly on crime, gang culture and issues affecting young people.
In 2015, he established the Kids Play Youth Foundation. The organisation has organised sports and community programmes aimed at helping young people avoid involvement in crime.
Dosanjh has also given interviews to various media outlets about his charitable work, frequently highlighting the importance of providing young people with positive activities and opportunities.
Police Seen Removing Items From Home
Following Dosanjh’s arrest, Vancouver police officers in both plain clothes and uniforms were seen Thursday afternoon removing various items and boxes from a home identified in court documents as his residence.
The police operation at the property has raised further questions as investigators continue examining the allegations and evidence related to the case.
Breach of Trust Charge
Dosanjh is also facing a separate charge of breach of trust by a public officer.
The charge relates to his position as a police officer and the official duties and authority associated with that role.
Details of the allegation were not immediately fully disclosed, although the charge has been listed separately in the court documents.
Lawyer Rejects Allegations
The Langley-based law firm Alliance Lawyers, which is representing Dosanjh, said in a statement that it would be inappropriate to draw any final conclusions simply from his arrest.
The legal team said Dosanjh had committed no offence and denied that he had engaged in any wrongdoing.
His lawyers stressed that an arrest, or a report of an arrest, does not by itself establish criminal conduct, corruption or criminal responsibility.
Investigation and Court Proceedings Continue
The allegations against Dosanjh have yet to be proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The case involves allegations relating to several property development projects, investors, the Kids Play Youth Foundation and Dosanjh’s actions in his capacity as a police officer.

The case has attracted particular attention because Dosanjh has spent more than two decades associated with policing while also leading a charitable organisation dedicated to keeping young people away from crime.
