Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, Muhammad Saleem, participated in a special interactive session with Pakistani-origin engineering professionals and graduates of Pakistani universities in Ottawa, where participants discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Canada in engineering and advanced technology.
The session was held on September 23, 2026, and was attended mainly by engineering professionals based in Ottawa as well as graduates of Pakistan’s leading engineering universities.
UET Alumni Participate
Alumni of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, UET Peshawar and UET Taxila participated in the session. Canadian Member of Parliament Aslam Rana, who is also a graduate of UET Lahore, attended the event as the chief guest.
Pakistani Professionals Praised
High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem appreciated the valuable contributions of Pakistani-origin professionals living in Canada to the country’s social and economic development.
He noted that professionals with roots in Pakistan have played an important role in Canada’s development through their expertise, experience and professional contributions.
