Date: October 7, 2026 The True Post (Web News) —A flight operated by Canada’s major airline Air Canada, arriving in Los Angeles from Toronto, was struck by another aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday.
The incident occurred after the aircraft had landed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
Air Canada flight AC785 departed from Toronto and landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport. After landing, the aircraft was being moved toward the gate when the wing of another aircraft made contact with the rear section of the Air Canada aircraft.
Collision While Being Moved Toward Gate
According to an Air Canada spokesperson, flight AC785 was being towed toward the gate after landing. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time.
According to the spokesperson, the left wing of an Airbus A350-900 aircraft operated by Delta Air Lines struck the rear section of the Air Canada aircraft.
At the time of the incident, the Air Canada aircraft had completed its flight and was being taken to the gate so passengers could disembark and other routine procedures could be carried out.
Passengers and Crew Safe
Despite the incident, no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
According to information available from authorities and both airlines, the collision did not result in any injuries.
Although the incident was unexpected for passengers on board, the absence of reported injuries meant that it did not develop into a major accident.
Aircraft Removed from Service
An Air Canada spokesperson said the affected aircraft would be immediately taken out of service following the incident.
The aircraft will undergo a complete inspection to assess any damage resulting from the collision.
After the inspection, repairs will be carried out if necessary, and the aircraft will not be returned to passenger service until the required safety checks have been completed.
Airlines are required to conduct detailed technical inspections even in cases involving what may appear to be minor external damage, particularly when contact or a collision involves an aircraft’s wing or tail section.
Delta Air Lines’ Position
A Delta Air Lines spokesperson also confirmed the incident on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, the company described the safety of passengers and crew as its top priority.
The Delta spokesperson apologized to passengers for the incident and said the company regretted the experience and the resulting travel delays.
According to the spokesperson, nothing is more important to the company than the safety of its passengers and employees.
Investigation Underway
An investigation into the incident at Los Angeles International Airport has also begun.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that it is investigating the incident.
The investigation will seek to determine under what circumstances the two aircraft came so close to each other, at what stage the collision occurred and what circumstances existed while the aircraft were being moved toward the gate.
Focus on Air Operations
Los Angeles International Airport is considered one of the busiest airports in the United States, with a large number of domestic and international flights arriving and departing every day.
At such a busy airport, safety procedures during the ground movement of aircraft are particularly important.
Following confirmation of the incident by both Air Canada and Delta, attention is now focused on the investigation and the technical inspection of the affected aircraft.
According to the initial information, the incident did not occur during the landing or takeoff of a flight. Instead, it occurred after the Air Canada flight had landed safely.
Although no passengers or crew members were injured, the aircraft is being removed from service for a safety inspection and possible repairs, while the FAA is investigating the incident to determine its full cause.
