The True Post (Web News)Alberta Sheriffs have closed a property in southeast Calgary following nearly two years of investigation into ongoing drug and criminal activity. The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit obtained a court order against the owner of a home on 41st Street SE in the Forest Lawn community after Calgary police received 148 complaints.
Neighbors reported constant foot traffic day and night and suspected that drug use and trafficking were taking place at the property.
The SCAN unit had been investigating the property since February 2024. The home is located near two playgrounds and an elementary school.
Officials said the location had become a focal point of concern for the local community, with residents repeatedly raising alarms about safety and criminal activity.
Under the court order, the property will be closed for 90 days. During this period, all individuals, including the property owner, must vacate the premises.
