The True Post (Web News) Despite mounting international pressure, the relentless bloodshed in Gaza by Israeli forces shows no sign of abating. In one of the deadliest days of recent weeks, at least 106 Palestinians were killed in a single day as Israeli attacks intensified across the besieged territory.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent , an Israeli strike targeted a group of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid southwest of Gaza City, resulting in 12 deaths and leaving 90 others wounded Witnesses reported scenes of chaos and devastation as people who had gathered in hopes of receiving food supplies were met with gunfire and shelling.

Since the war began in October 2023, at least 60,332 Palestinians have been killed, and 147,643 have been injured according to official health sources in Gaza. On the Israeli side, approximately 1,139 people were killed in the October 7 attack, with more than 200 individuals taken hostage.
Hospitals across Gaza continue to report tragic stories of suffering. At Al-Shifa Hospital , doctors confirmed the death of 17 year-old Atif Abu Khater who was previously in good health but succumbed to severe malnutrition after being admitted to the ICU earlier this week.

In response to the deteriorating situation, Juliette Thomas , spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) , expressed grave concern over the ongoing airdrops of humanitarian aid in Gaza. She warned that air delivery of aid is dangerous for civilians , with numerous cases of injuries and fatalities caused by misdirected or mishandled airdrops.
Thomas stressed that the most effective and humane solution is for Israel to open Gaza’s border crossings and allow thousands of aid trucks already prepared to enter the territory.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini echoed this sentiment, stating that air deliveries are at least 100 times more expensive than land-based operations and far less efficient. “Trucks can bring in double the amount of aid compared to aircraft,” Lazzarini said, adding that **over 6,000 trucks** are currently ready and waiting to enter Gaza.
Taking to social media, Lazzarini emphasized: “If there is political will to support air drops, then there must also be the political will to open the road crossings. The people of Gaza cannot wait any longer.”
As the death toll rises and famine looms, international calls for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access are growing louder. However, with no signs of de-escalation, Gaza remains caught in one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent memory.
