The True Post (Web News) European powers have called for an immediate end to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The leaders of Britain, France, Germany and the European Union have said that a ceasefire is essential to establishing peace, without which the path to a major agreement cannot be paved. The British Prime Minister said in a statement that “security guarantees must first be provided for the future of Ukraine, only then will real progress be possible. Today’s talks are expected to yield a major breakthrough.” French President Emmanuel Macron also stressed that all countries in Europe need collective security to maintain peace in the region. He said that the allied countries are ready to jointly provide security guarantees to Ukraine. On the other hand, the German Chancellor said that “we all want an end to the war. This meeting is certainly helpful, but the steps to come will be much more complicated.”
It should be noted that earlier, US President Donald Trump had said in a press conference after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House that war is not the solution to any problem. Trump said, “Thousands of innocent people are killed during wars, so we all have to work together to establish peace.” He added that the world is tired of the Ukraine war and everyone wants it to end. Trump also claimed that his efforts recently prevented a major war between Pakistan and India.
