Britain’s Decision To Deport Students Who Stay After Their Visas Expire: Which Country’s Students Will Be Most Affected?

The True Post(Web News) The British government has announced that it is launching a strict crackdown on foreign students who stay in the country despite their visas having expired.

The government has previously introduced stricter policies on refugees, and now international students are being targeted. The UK Home Office has warned thousands of foreign students through emails and text messages that they will be deported if they overstay their visas. According to officials, there has been a growing trend in recent years of students submitting asylum applications rather than leaving the country when their visas expire.
According to the figures, in the past year alone, 14,800 asylum applications were made by people who came to the UK on study visas. The largest number of these applicants were Pakistani students, who topped the list with 5,700 applications. The list also includes students from India, Bangladesh and Nigeria.
British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said that there were some students who applied for asylum when there had been no major change in the situation in their own country. According to her, this behavior is increasing the burden on the British refugee system, which is why strict measures have become inevitable. It should be noted that Britain has recently decided to temporarily suspend new applications for “family reunion” for refugees. After this, a new policy has also been implemented against students holding study visas, which may especially affect Pakistani students.
