British university suspends students in solidarity with Gaza

Canada Global(Web News)Students from the Palestine Society of SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) have said that the university has suspended its students after a ‘rally in solidarity with Gaza’.

The SOAS Palestine Society wrote in a post on social networking site X that the SOAS University of London, known for its so-called progressive politics, has joined forces with Gaza, Dawn newspaper reported . Officially taking steps to suspend their students after a solidarity rally, this is a clear act of political repression, please read and share as much as possible.

On October 9, the Palestinian Society and its student community held a rally in solidarity with the people of Gaza, with hundreds of students participating in the demonstration, the post said.

It said the university suspended and warned the students on October 13 and 14, an action the university took to target those who expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people for political repression. Is.

Similarly, several users of the social networking website X condemned the move as putting the university on the wrong side of history and a dangerous attack on freedom of expression.

Several former students of SOAS wrote in the post that the university’s actions were “shameful” and contradicted its reputation as an inclusive educational institution.

It should be noted that more than 3,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7. This latest attack is the bloodiest incident so far.
