And the league’s leading rushing leader, Derick Mills, has signed a new two-year contract that runs through the 2027 season. The team announced the deal Wednesday. Derick Mills, 28, was eligible to become a free agent on February 10 at the end of the current season, but the club decided to retain him due to his outstanding performance. Mills, a native of Georgia, had a stellar 2025 season, racking up 1,409 rushing yards**, a career-high.
Mills scored 11 rushing touchdowns during the season, a personal best in a single season. These exceptional performances earned him divisional and All-CFL honors.
Dederic Mills also had a great game in the playoffs, gaining 114 rushing yards despite losing in the Western Semi-Final to the British Columbia Lions. Dederic Mills joined the Calgary Stampeders in 2022 and has so far scored 3,593 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in 51 regular season games. In addition, he has also played an important role in the passing game, gaining 847 receiving yards through 98 catches.
The Montreal Alouettes have announced the re-signing of American defensive back Naji Murray for the 2026 season. The 31-year-old Murray had a stellar defensive season last season, recording 77 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions. He also had two knockdowns and two fumble recoveries. Naji Murray has been with the Alouettes since 2018 and has made **240 defensive tackles, nine interceptions and three sacks in 66 games.

Connor, a native of Vancouver, joined the Lions for the second time in free agency ahead of the 2025 season. He made nine tackles in 14 regular-season games but was sidelined with an arm injury. In his long career, he has accumulated 226 defensive tackles, 53 special teams tackles, five sacks and four interceptions while representing Edmonton, BC and Calgary.

The Saskatchewan Raiders have signed Canadian running back **Thomas Bertrand-Hudwin to a new one-year contract. The 29-year-old has rushed for 64 yards for 365 yards and four touchdowns in 42 games so far. He has also served on receiving and special teams, including 17 kickoff returns and 23 special teams tackles. Bertrand-Hudwin was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 CFL Draft.
Brooke Sunderland joins Tiger Cats front office

**Brooke Sunderland, a veteran Canadian Football League administrator, has been named senior director of player personnel in the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ front office. Sunderland served in the same role with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers during the 2025 season. He was previously general manager of Edmonton and was part of the 2016 Grey Cup-winning team with the Ottawa Red Blacks. He also worked as a scout for the NFL’s New York Jets.
