The True Post(Web News)Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China and India should view each other as partners rather than enemies or threats.
He made these remarks during a meeting with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar in New Delhi. Wang Yi is on a three-day visit to India and is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
Wang emphasized that both countries need to establish a proper strategic understanding and advance their relations based on mutual coordination and benefit.
During the meeting, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India and China aim to move their ties in a positive direction after a challenging period. He stressed that differences should not escalate into disputes and competition should not turn into confrontation.
It is notable that following U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff war and rising tensions in global politics, both India and China are seeking ways to improve bilateral relations.
Wang Yi is also scheduled to visit Islamabad this week, while Indian media reports indicate that Prime Minister Modi may visit China later this month.
