
The True Post (Web News) Heavy rains, cloudbursts and flash floods caused widespread loss of life and property in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
A total of 61 people lost their lives in various accidents, while dozens of people are injured or missing. According to rescue officials, the flash floods that hit Jabrarai and its surrounding areas in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last night washed away several houses, bridges and communication roads. So far, 21 bodies have been recovered, while 7 people are still missing. The injured were shifted to the hospital after immediate medical assistance.
In Battagram of Mansehra district, several houses were also destroyed by a cloudburst, 7 people were killed and several livestock were killed. One death was also reported in Shangla. According to the PDMA, 43 people died in five districts of the province due to rains and landslides, including Bajaur, Lower Dir, Swat, Battagram and Shangla.
In Azad Kashmir, 8 lives, including 6 members of the same family, were lost due to flooding in rivers and canals, while 10 deaths occurred in various accidents after rain in Gilgit-Baltistan. Educational institutions have been closed for two days due to heavy rains in Azad Kashmir.
