The True Post(Web News)A shocking incident of 216 prisoners escaping from Karachi’s Malir District Jail, popularly known as “Bachha Jail”, has come to light last night.
During the incident, the area was shaken by the sounds of heavy gunfire around and inside the prison, causing widespread panic among citizens.
According to SSP Malir Kashif Aftab Abbasi, a large contingent of police and Rangers reached the jail immediately after the incident, and Malir Jail, the National Highway, surrounding villages and residential areas were completely surrounded.
The National Highway was closed to traffic from both directions for some time.
DIG Jail Hassan Sahuto and DG Rangers Sindh Major General Muhammad Shamrez personally visited the jail and reviewed the security situation.
According to reports, multiple earthquakes in the area yesterday allegedly caused the prisoners to escape.
A large number of prisoners were seated outside the barracks, and the prisoners took advantage of the opportunity and turned the prison into a battlefield.
The prison administration opened fire to control the prisoners. Five personnel, including FC personnel, were injured while trying to control the situation, and more than 200 prisoners escaped from the prison and fled to nearby settlements.
