The True Post(Web News) Floods and landslides have once again caused devastation in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Due to which the entire population of Roshan village has been surrounded and dozens of people are trapped. According to the district administration, a landslide occurred on both sides of the Talidas drain last night, due to which the Gilgit-Shandur Road has been completely closed and traffic has been suspended. The landslide has besieged the surrounding villages. Gilgit-Baltistan Home Minister Shams Lone has confirmed that the area has been badly affected by the flood, but fortunately there was no loss of life. He said that several people are reported to be trapped in the village and a helicopter has been called on an emergency basis to evacuate them, while a helicopter has been immediately dispatched on the instructions of Commander FCNA.
According to the Ghizer police, about 50 people are stranded in Roshan village, who have appealed to the government to immediately shift them to a safe place. Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghizer said that the flow of the Ghizer River has stopped since 3 am due to landslides, as a result of which more settlements are being eroded and there is a risk of flooding due to the accumulation of water. He said that the locals were informed in time, due to which no loss of life was caused.
