G7 Summit: Tight Security Arrangements, Emergency G-Zones Established

The True Post (Web News) Strict security arrangements have been made for the G7 summit. During an information session held at the Central Library, police and RCMP officials informed citizens about the meeting.

The meeting will be held in Kananaskis from June 15 to 17, in which world leaders, including the US President, will participate. The White House officially confirmed the president’s participation. According to the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), three specific protest zones are being set up in the city to allow protesters to express their views, while also ensuring security. These zones will be fully equipped for protesters so that their messages can reach the G7 world leaders. According to police officials, the demonstrations will be monitored by the CPS Public Safety Unit and regular duty officers.

CPS G7 Security Director Superintendent Joe Brar said: “We are working closely with the organisers to ensure that all demonstrations are lawful, peaceful and safe, with minimal disruption to the community. Any illegal or dangerous activity will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Barriers will be erected around hotels and roads may be temporarily closed during the movement of convoys. Citizens are advised to take alternative routes and avoid unnecessary travel on these days. Authorities say a significant number of protesters are expected, including pro-Palestinian groups, who plan to raise their voices on a range of issues.
