The True Post (Web News) The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the recent attack on the Qatari capital Doha, saying that this action is against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar.
Interestingly, the condemnation statement did not directly mention Israel, even though the attack was carried out by the Israeli Air Force to target the Hamas leadership. The Security Council statement was drafted by Britain and France and was unanimously approved by all 15 members, including the United States. According to experts, this is an unusual development because the United States usually provides diplomatic protection to Israel in such matters. In the statement, the Security Council made it clear that it fully supports Qatar’s **sovereignty, territorial integrity and security**. At the same time, the release of hostages from Gaza and an immediate ceasefire were declared top priorities.
According to international media, by supporting the condemnation statement this time, the United States has sent a message that it is not happy with the unilateral attack on Doha. President Donald Trump has also expressed his displeasure over the attack carried out on the orders of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Addressing the Security Council meeting, Pakistan’s permanent representative Asim Iftikhar said that this attack is a threat not only to Qatar but also to world peace. He said that Israel violated Qatar’s sovereignty and violated the UN Charter. The meeting was called at the request of several countries, including Pakistan, to discuss the deteriorating situation in the region after the attack on Doha.
Six people, including the son of Hamas political leader **Khalil al-Haya**, were killed in the Israeli attack on Tuesday. His office director and other associates were also among the martyrs, but Hamas’s top leadership was safe in the attack. The attack on Doha came at a time when the situation in Gaza is already tense in the region. The United States has also expressed its disapproval of the move, describing it as “unilateral”, while the international community has once again called for an immediate ceasefire.
