The True Post (Web News)The 42nd session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly was held from September 23 to October 3, 2025, in Montreal, Canada. On this occasion, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) was conferred the prestigious Council President Certificate in recognition of significant improvements in aviation security. The award was received by PCAA Director General, Mr. Nadir Shafi Dar.
Director General Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). He highlighted that Pakistan’s Effective Implementation (EI) score in the 2024 ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission stood at 84.69%, well above both regional and global averages. Similarly, in the 2024 USAP audit, Pakistan achieved an EI of 86.79%, again surpassing regional and international benchmarks.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Muhammad Saleem, termed the award timely and auspicious, calling it a positive sign for the future of the country’s civil aviation sector. He emphasized that the aviation industry plays a vital role in connecting Pakistan with the world, noting that in 2024, international passenger traffic exceeded 16 million compared to just 5.8 million domestic passengers.
