Tehran canceled nuclear talks that Washington had said were the only way to stop Israel’s bombing, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attacks were nothing compared to what Iran would see in the coming days.
The Israeli military said late Saturday that Iran fired more missiles toward Israel and that it was working to intercept them. It also said it was striking military targets in Tehran.
Several projectiles were visible in the night sky over Jerusalem late Saturday. Air raid sirens did not sound in the city but could be heard in the northern Israeli city of Haifa.
Israel’s ambulance service said three Israelis, including a 20-year-old woman, were killed and 13 wounded when a missile hit a house in northern Israel. Emergency responders with flashlights were seen searching the rubble of the house, which was still standing but had its roof partially collapsed. Israeli media said three people were killed in the attack in the Palestinian-majority town of Tamra.
Iran said the Israeli strike targeted the Shahran oil depot in Tehran but that the situation was under control and that a fire had broken out after an Israeli strike on an oil refinery near the capital. Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday that the Israeli strikes also targeted the Iranian Defense Ministry building in Tehran, causing minor damage.
