The True Post (Web News)Israel has completely closed Al-Aqsa Mosque for an indefinite period for the first time since the Corona pandemic, which means that Friday prayers could not even be held there today.
According to the Palestinian news agency “Wafa”, Israeli forces stormed the mosque after the dawn prayer and forcibly expelled the worshippers present there.
After evicting worshippers, the Israeli army closed all the doors to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and no one is being allowed to enter.
Israel’s closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque came hours after the attack on Iran, while a complete lockdown has been imposed in the West Bank.
Aoun Buzbaz, director of international affairs, tourism, and diplomacy at the Islamic Endowment, told Middle East Eye that Israel used tensions with Iran to gain further control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He added that Israel claimed that the closure was for public safety, but only Waqf employees were allowed to enter the mosque.
It should be noted that the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and restrictions on worshippers are a clear violation of the fundamental right to religious freedom.
