Karachi: 5-Storey Residential Building Collapses, 3 Dead, Many Buried Under Rubble

The True Post (Web News) A tragic accident in Shahr-e-Quaid, a five-storey residential building near Al-Naveed Hotel in Baghdadi area of ​​Lyari suddenly collapsed. The accident spread panic in the area while rescue operations were immediately launched to rescue the people buried under the rubble.

According to reports, six families were residing in the building. The building has completely collapsed and so far, 3 bodies and 5 injured have been pulled out of the rubble, out of which 2 are in critical condition. A 40-year-old woman who was brought to the trauma center of Civil Hospital Karachi was found with multiple fractures and severe injuries on her body.
 Police, Rangers and rescue teams reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. Deputy Commissioner South, Javed Nabi Khoso is also present at the spot and is supervising the rescue operations. Due to the closure of narrow streets and roads, the arrival of heavy machinery is being hampered, which is causing difficulties in the rescue operation.
However, locals are also actively participating in the rescue operations so that the people buried under the rubble can be rescued as soon as possible. The two-story building next to the affected building has been evacuated, while other adjacent buildings are also being kept under surveillance in view of the **danger.

Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the incident, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori has directed the rescue agencies to take immediate, coordinated and effective actions. He said that all available resources should be utilized to rescue the people buried under the debris and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured. He warned that any negligence or carelessness will not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister also stressed on providing immediate medical assistance to the injured.

 According to the administration of Civil Hospital Karachi, six injured people have been shifted to the hospital so far, some of whom are in critical condition. The injured are being provided immediate medical assistance and an emergency has been declared in the hospital.
