King Charles ends throne speech by calling Canada ‘strong and free’

The True Post (Web News)Today, King Charles formally opened the 45th Parliament of Canada by reading the Throne Speech in the Canadian Parliament.

Every new session of Parliament begins with a Throne Speech. This speech is a document that explains the direction in which the government hopes to work during the coming period, what its goals are, and what plans have been made to achieve them.
After US President Donald Trump’s comments threatening Canada’s sovereignty, Prime Minister Mark Carney asked King Charles to deliver the Throne Speech.
At the end of his speech, King Charles praised Canada, calling it a force for good in the world. Then he said that as the Canadian national anthem says, Canada is strong and free. The Canadian national anthem contains the line The True North strong and free, which Charles mentioned.
This is the third time a British monarch has delivered a Throne Speech in Canada. Queen Elizabeth gave a Throne Speech in Canada in 1957 and 1977.
