The True Post(Web News) Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has strongly condemned Israel for what he called a failure to prevent the worsening humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, as thousands of children face starvation and aid remains blocked.
Speaking on the territorial integrity of the West Bank and Gaza, Carney called on Israel to respect international boundaries and obligations. He announced that Canada will intensify diplomatic efforts on all international platforms in support of a two-state solution for Palestine.
Carney confirmed Canada’s participation in next week’s United Nations conference focused on reviving the two-state solution, calling it “the only viable path toward lasting peace in the region.”
The Prime Minister further criticized the Israeli government for halting Canadian humanitarian aid intended for Gaza, stating, “Blocking aid to starving children is indefensible. Canada will not remain silent in the face of such a moral and humanitarian failure.”
In a parallel development, the Israeli Knesset passed a highly controversial resolution to annex the occupied West Bank, sparking international outcry.
Meanwhile, mass protests erupted once again in the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv, where thousands of demonstrators rallied against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. Protesters demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the return of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners, and the restoration of food and medical supplies to Palestinian territories.
Canada joins other nations, including France, the UK, and Australia, in calling for an end to the blockade, an immediate ceasefire, and a renewed commitment to peace through the recognition of a Palestinian state.
