According to a foreign news agency, a high-level meeting was held with security officials headed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the chiefs of the armed forces.

The meeting discussed the situation after the Pahalgam incident. According to sources, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given permission to the Indian Army to respond to the Pahalgam incident.

Modi said that the army itself will determine the method, time, place and targets of the response. According to the news agency, a senior government source said that the Indian government has accused Pakistan of the Pahalgam attack.

Narendra Modi will chair separate meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Security, Economic Affairs and Political Affairs. On the other hand, in view of the increasing tension between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Army has made changes in the Northern Command.

Indian Army Deputy Chief of Strategy Lt. Gen. Pratik Sharma has been appointed as the new commander of the Northern Command Force in place of Lt. Gen. Sukhendra Kumar.

India’s Northern Command, which is stationed in Udhampur, oversees the areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and commands all operations against Pakistan and China.
