Morocco’s king appeals to people not to sacrifice animals, animals disappear from markets

The True Post(Web News)King Mohammed VI of Morocco has once again appealed to the public not to sacrifice on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The appeal was issued on state media by Morocco’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed El-Tawfiq.

The king’s message states that Morocco is currently suffering from a severe economic crisis and climate change, which has led to a decrease in the number of livestock and is also affecting their breeding.

According to the statement, in the current circumstances, the salaried and middle class may be severely affected by the sacrifice, so the public should not perform the Sunnah of sacrifice this year. The king reminded that the sacrifice is a Sunnah Mu’akkah, and concessions can be made in the current difficult circumstances in religion.

King Mohammed VI also announced the sacrifice of two sheep on his behalf to keep the spirit of this important tradition alive.

Meanwhile, after the king’s appeal, sacrificial animals suddenly disappeared from livestock markets across the country. Videos are going viral on social media in which alleged government officials are seen confiscating sheep from homes, which is causing concern and anger among the public
