Environment Canada urges residents to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and keep a close watch on seniors, children, and those without air conditioning. A high UV index is also forecast, increasing the risk of sunburn with minimal exposure.
Relief may come Friday with a 40% chance of rain and overcast skies, which could slightly ease the heat, although daytime temperatures will likely remain warm.
