Pakistan Enters Second Monsoon Spell from July 5 to 10: Heavy Rain, Flood Alerts Issued

The True Post(Web News)Pakistan’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning that the second spell of monsoon rains will sweep across the country from July 5 to 10, raising the risk of flash floods, urban inundation, and hill torrents.

Heavy downpours and thunderstorms are expected to affect Punjab (Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore, Faisalabad), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Dir, Swat, Peshawar), Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan during this period

Authorities have placed most northern and central districts on high alert, particularly in hilly and low-lying areas, where the risk of landslides and overflowing rivers or streams is elevated. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during storms, and remain vigilant near such water bodies. Emergency response teams—including Rescue 1122, municipal agencies, and disaster management units—are mobilized to clear drains, conduct evacuations if needed, and support affected communities
