
The True Post (Web News) A grand and dignified ceremony was organized at the Pakistan High Commission, Canada, on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.
Members of the Pakistani community, students, people from different walks of life and Canadian guests attended the ceremony in large numbers. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Special messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion, emphasizing the historical importance of Independence Day, the remembrance of sacrifices and the determination to take the country’s journey of development forward. The High Commissioner said in his address that Independence Day is not just a celebration but a message of sacrifice, unity and hard work. He said that Pakistanis living abroad are highlighting the positive image of the homeland with their character, hard work and honesty and this trend should continue. Traditional music, national songs and folk dances were presented at the ceremony to highlight Pakistani culture. Stalls of traditional Pakistani food were set up, which were served to the guests. Special activities were also organized for children and youth, including a national anthem singing competition, painting and face painting.
The High Commissioner also presented certificates of appreciation to Pakistanis who have rendered distinguished services in various fields on the occasion. He said that the Pakistani community in Canada is the identity of Pakistan and its achievements are a source of pride for Pakistan. A photo exhibition was also organized at the event, which included pictures of Pakistan’s natural landscapes, historical sites, and cultural heritage. The participants appreciated the beautiful and positive aspects of Pakistan in these pictures. The event concluded with prayers for the security and prosperity of Pakistan, and the participants congratulated each other on the occasion of Independence Day.
