More than 110,000 ticket applications have so far been received for the Pakistan-India clash, while more than 1 million fans have expressed interest in the ticket ballot for various matches across the World Cup.

Pakistan-India Match Draws Huge Interest

The demand for tickets for the 2027 World Cup, hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, has shown an extraordinary trend from the very beginning.

Within more than 48 hours of the ticket ballot opening, a large number of applications were submitted by fans, highlighting the continued global popularity of the Cricket World Cup.

Among all the fixtures, however, the match between Pakistan and India has attracted the greatest attention. More than 110,000 ticket applications have already been submitted for the contest.

Matches between the two traditional rivals have always attracted exceptional interest from cricket fans around the world, with their importance becoming even greater at a World Cup.

Other Major Matches

After the Pakistan-India fixture, the match between South Africa and India has also generated significant interest among fans. More than 92,000 ticket applications have been received for that match.

Similarly, more than 86,000 applications have already been submitted for the match between India and Australia.

The figures show that fan interest is not limited to traditional rivalries. Major matches involving leading cricketing nations are also attracting considerable attention.

Super 7 Contest

The pre-seeded Super 7 match between India and Pakistan, scheduled for November 7, has also become a major attraction for fans. Approximately 78,000 ticket applications have been received for the match.

There is also strong interest in the World Cup final. Around 69,000 ticket applications have already been submitted for the final scheduled to be played on November 21, indicating that fan interest is expected to remain high through the tournament’s concluding stages.

More Than 1 Million Applications

According to ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta, receiving more than 1 million applications within just over 48 hours of the ticket ballot opening is a sign that the global appeal of the Cricket World Cup continues to grow.

He said major ICC tournaments are no longer simply sporting competitions. Instead, they have evolved into global gatherings that bring together people from different regions and cultures.

Host Countries Ready

World Cup organising committee Chief Executive Qondisa Ngonya also expressed happiness over the extraordinary demand for tickets.

According to Ngonya, more than 1 million ticket applications demonstrate the exceptional interest among fans around the world in becoming part of the tournament.

She said South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia are ready to welcome cricket fans from across the world. The expectation is that the 2027 World Cup will provide memorable experiences for supporters both inside and outside the stadiums.

Registration Continues

Registration for the ticket ballot will remain open until 11:59 p.m. Central African Time on November 21.

Registration for the ticket ballot is completely free, and fans will not have to make any payment when submitting an application.

Each person can submit one application for a particular match. However, separate applications can be submitted for multiple matches, giving fans the opportunity to seek tickets for several of their preferred fixtures.

Tickets Will Be Allocated by Ballot

Success in the ticket ballot will not depend on the time at which an application is submitted. The process is not being conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Therefore, submitting an application immediately after registration opens will not provide an advantage over submitting one later during the designated registration period.

If the number of applications for a match exceeds the number of available tickets, successful applicants will be selected through a ballot.

This system will give all eligible applicants an equal opportunity to obtain tickets.

Fans Will Be Notified

After the ticket ballot process is completed, both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified through the email addresses they provided during registration.

This process will allow fans to receive the outcome of their applications directly.

Pakistan-India Rivalry Remains a Global Attraction

The initial demand for tickets for the 2027 World Cup has once again demonstrated the enduring global popularity of cricket matches between Pakistan and India.

More than 110,000 applications for the Pakistan-India fixture make it one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament. At the same time, more than 1 million applications overall highlight the strong desire among cricket fans worldwide to attend one of the sport’s biggest global events.

The extraordinary response at the opening stage suggests that the 2027 World Cup is already generating significant anticipation, with the Pakistan-India contest standing out as the tournament’s biggest ticket attraction so far.
