The True Post(Web News) Portugal has also announced its official recognition of Palestine as a state.

A statement issued by the Portuguese Foreign Ministry said that the formal recognition of Palestine as a state will be announced on September 21. The decision comes at a time when several countries are set to make formal announcements recognizing Palestine as a state during the United Nations General Assembly session this month.
Portugal’s Foreign Minister had indicated during a visit to the UK this week that his country was considering recognizing a Palestinian state, but now the Foreign Ministry has made it clear that Portugal recognizes Palestine as a state. It should be noted that Portugal is not the first country in this matter.

According to experts, the increasing announcements by European and Western countries to recognize Palestine as a state are a major political development on the global level, which will not only strengthen the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination but also increase global pressure on the Middle East issue.
