Richdale Council Launches ‘Gm Family Hub’ App To Guide Parents

The True Post (Web News) Richdale Borough Council has launched a new mobile app for parents and guardians, ‘GM Family Hub’.

The app, which will provide comprehensive guidance from birth to adolescence, has been developed in partnership with *Essential Parent*. This innovative app provides residents of Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood with free local information and trusted advice. It features authoritative information on key topics such as children’s health, mental and behavioural development, women’s health, special educational needs (SEND) and disability. Councillor Rachel Massey, head of children’s services and education, said: “Every parent needs guidance at some point – whether it’s from the internet, books or talking to an expert. This app brings together all these sources to provide quick and reliable information, which can be particularly helpful in times of crisis. She made it clear that the app is not a replacement for health professionals, school nurses or health visitors, but a tool to make the services they provide more effective.
*“Our aim is to give every child the best start in life, and this app is part of that goal. The app is available in over 75 languages and can be downloaded for free on both *iOS* and *Android* platforms. After registering, users enter their postcode, which automatically delivers content specific to Richdale.
Featured features in the app include local advice on maternal and child health, expert guidance from over 30 national organizations, family wellness and mental health support, educational and training videos, breaking news, and useful informational articles.
