According to Islamabad Police, due to the unavailability of Judicial Magistrate Hafeez Ahmed, the accused is likely to be produced in the court of Duty Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal.
It should be noted that IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, while confirming the arrest of the accused in the murder of social media TikToker Sana Yousuf yesterday, said that the accused was arrested from Faisalabad and Sana Yousuf’s mobile phone was also recovered from him.
It should be remembered that Sana Yousaf was murdered inside her home in Islamabad, where she was living with her family.
- While informing about the progress of Sana Yousuf’s murder, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, while holding a press conference along with DIGs and SSPs, said on Tuesday that according to the initial investigation, the accused killed Sana Yousuf after she repeatedly rejected him.
“This case was one of repetitive rejection. The accused killed Sana Yousuf because he was repeatedly contacting Sana and she was refusing him. He had been trying to contact Sana Yousuf through social media for the past several days, and on June 2, he came to Sana Yousuf’s house and waited for seven to eight hours. When Sana refused to meet him that day too, he planned and carried out the incident.”
According to them, the two suspects entered Sana Yousuf’s house at 5:00 PM and shot her twice.
‘Blind murder case was a challenge for the police’
Syed Nasir Rizvi said that this blind murder case was a challenge for the police and the Islamabad Police arrested the accused with the help of CCTV and modern technology.
He said, “The murder of Sana Yousaf had caused a wave of concern throughout Pakistan, including Islamabad, and the murder of a daughter in such a situation was a huge challenge for us.”

He said that the police immediately formed seven teams to search for the unknown suspect, who worked on cellular technology and digital surveillance to catch the suspect.
He said that police teams conducted several raids to arrest the accused and checked footage from 113 cameras, while details of more than 300 calls were reviewed during the investigation.
He said that along with this, social media was also carefully analyzed and we reached 37 people through social media.
IG Islamabad Nasir Rizvi said that the young TikToker’s iPhone was made to disappear by the accused. According to him, the accused took the mobile phone of the deceased Sana Yousaf so that all the records could be erased.
He said that the accused is a matriculation pass and his father retired from government service in grade 16.
According to the IG Islamabad, a police team headed by DIG Jawad conducted 11 raids to arrest the accused, including three raids in Faisalabad and two in Jaranwala, and the 22-year-old accused was arrested.
Earlier, Sub-Inspector Mansabdar, who was part of the investigation team in the case, said that after examining the victim’s call records, it was found that the two had contacted each other by telephone before the murder.
The officer claimed that, “When he reviewed the calls on the phone used by Sana Yousuf, the picture on the profile of one of the numbers matched the person about whom the family had told the police that a person with this appearance had entered the house.”
It should be noted that on Monday evening, Sana Yousuf was allegedly shot and killed by an unknown person in her home.
The officer claimed that the accused was arrested from Faisalabad by tracing his mobile location.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in a post on X, praised the police for arresting the suspect.

Sana Yousaf was murdered yesterday inside her home in Islamabad where she was living with her family.
The case of Sana Yousuf’s murder was registered on the complaint of her mother. The FIR registered at the Sambal police station in Islamabad stated that “a person suddenly entered our house yesterday and fired directly at my daughter Sana Yousuf, two of which hit her in the chest.”
According to the FIR, “The unknown person ran down the stairs and when we raised our voices, the locals gathered. I put my daughter in a neighbor’s car and took her to the hospital, but my daughter had already succumbed to her injuries.”
The FIR filed by the victim’s mother also states that her husband was not present at home at the time of the incident, but only she, her brother-in-law, and her daughter Sana Yousaf were at home.
The BBC contacted the victim’s parents to seek their opinion on the incident, but has not yet received a response.
Sub-Inspector Mansabdar, who is part of the investigation team in this case, told the BBC that after the postmortem of the victim’s body was conducted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the body was handed over to the heirs, and the heirs have gone to Chitral with the body.
It should be noted that this is not the first incident of the murder of a female TikToker in Pakistan. Late last month, TikToker Iqra Azam was allegedly murdered by her own relative in Khushab district of Punjab, according to police.

A police officer involved in the investigation team said that the initial investigation revealed that the accused had searched the house where the victim was living before killing Sana Yousuf. When he saw that Sana’s parents were not at home, he entered the house, pulled out a pistol and fired two shots at Sana
Another official involved in the investigation team said that the suspect entered the house and went straight to Sana Yousuf’s room and started shooting at her as soon as he left.
According to the police officer, the suspect fled the scene immediately after Sana Yousuf fell from the gunshot wound.
