Date: October 1, 2026 The True Post (Web News) —Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has called for reducing regional tensions and continuing efforts to achieve diplomatic solutions, while stating that Saudi Arabia will respond decisively to any threat or attack against its security.
He emphasised that security and stability in the Gulf are indivisible, warning that tensions in one part of the region could affect peace and stability across the wider area.
Diplomatic Solution
Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Saudi Arabia would continue its efforts to reduce regional tensions and pursue diplomatic solutions to crises. He stressed that reducing tensions, maintaining mutual respect and sustaining diplomatic communication are essential for achieving lasting peace in the region.
The Saudi Crown Prince made it clear that diplomatic efforts would not come at the expense of protecting Saudi Arabia’s national security and sovereignty. According to him, the kingdom would fulfil its responsibility to respond to any threat to its security.
Gulf Security
Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to regional security and strategic cooperation with other Gulf countries. He said the security of Gulf nations is interconnected and that collective efforts are necessary to maintain stability across the region.
He added that cooperation, communication and coordinated strategies among Gulf countries need to be strengthened to address the security threats facing the region.
Mecca Defence Agreement
The Saudi Crown Prince also described the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan as part of broader efforts to promote regional stability. The agreement aims to strengthen collective defence and security cooperation among the three countries.
Under the Mecca Defence Agreement, the three countries have agreed to enhance defence cooperation and reinforce their shared security. The agreement also includes the principle that an armed attack against one member would be considered an attack against all parties.
Pakistan and Türkiye
According to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, defence cooperation with Pakistan and Türkiye could play an important role in strengthening the region’s collective security framework.
Recent contacts among the three countries have also involved discussions on defence cooperation, intelligence sharing and improving joint defence capabilities.
The three countries have also emphasised continued cooperation to reduce regional tensions, resolve crises peacefully and promote lasting peace.
Maritime Security
The Saudi Crown Prince also stressed the need for cooperation on global energy security and maritime safety. He said protecting global energy supplies and key maritime routes is important not only for the region but also for the international economy.
Referring to the establishment of multinational maritime defence cooperation, he said joint efforts are necessary to secure vital shipping routes and ensure the uninterrupted flow of trade.
Situation in Gaza
Mohammed bin Salman condemned the ongoing attacks against Palestinians in Gaza and violations involving Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people and reaffirmed its commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Saudi Arabia has consistently described a resolution to the Palestinian issue as important for achieving lasting peace in the region, while maintaining the establishment of an independent Palestinian state among its diplomatic priorities.
Yemen and Sudan
The Saudi Crown Prince also expressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to continuing its support for the Yemeni government against the Houthi militia.
He said strengthening the government and state institutions was necessary to promote stability and security in Yemen.
Mohammed bin Salman also announced continued support for Sudan’s unity, stability and state security. According to him, maintaining stability in different countries across the region is essential for broader regional peace.
Regional Strategy
Mohammed bin Salman’s statement indicates that Saudi Arabia intends to continue diplomatic engagement and efforts to reduce tensions while simultaneously strengthening its security, Gulf stability and defence cooperation.
