Michael Mohan, 68, served in the US Army Corps of Engineers for a long time. His body was found in the bathroom of his home on January 30, 2024. The body had been shot, while a large knife and dagger were also found nearby, with which the beheading had been done. Michael Mohan’s killer was none other than his own son, 33-year-old Justin Mohan, who posted a video of his father’s brutal murder on YouTube.

In this video, the unfortunate son promoted anti-government views and also encouraged the murder of other federal officials. This is the first time in the history of the state of Pennsylvania that a person has been convicted under the state’s terrorism law. During the trial, Mohan Justin’s mother told the court that her son had a good relationship with his father but did not find a job after graduation, for which she blamed the government and the education system.

Mohan Justin admitted during the hearing that he killed his father, but claimed that he wanted to detain him under a “citizen’s arrest” and was killed when he resisted.This explanation was described by prosecutor Edward Luca as complete “nonsense”. In an emotional statement in court, Mohan Justin’s sister said her family had been deeply affected by the deliberate and cruel deception perpetrated by her own brother.

The court sentenced Justin Mohan to life in prison without parole for the horrific crime. Authorities have called the decision a victory for justice and hope it will send a strong message to others that violence based on hateful ideologies is unacceptable.
