Taliban Fails to Guarantee Cessation of Cross-Border Terrorism, Operations to Continue: Information Minister

The True Post (Web News)  Pakistan’s Information Minister has confirmed that recent talks with the Taliban regarding cross-border terrorism did not yield the expected assurances, and that military operations along the border will continue.

According to the minister, discussions aimed at securing a commitment from the Taliban to prevent terrorist activities originating from across the border were unsuccessful. Despite diplomatic efforts, the group did not provide guarantees to halt attacks, prompting the government to maintain ongoing security operations.

The minister emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to defending its borders and ensuring the safety of its citizens. “We cannot compromise on national security. Until concrete assurances are received, our forces will continue necessary operations to neutralize threats,” he stated.

Officials noted that previous directives regarding border security remain in effect and that all security agencies are instructed to maintain vigilance. The minister also called on local communities to cooperate with authorities and report any suspicious activities, highlighting the importance of civil-military coordination in safeguarding the region.

The government’s decision underscores Pakistan’s stance against cross-border terrorism and its resolve to take decisive action where threats persist. Security analysts point out that maintaining pressure along the border is essential to prevent infiltration and protect strategic areas.

While diplomatic channels remain open, authorities have made it clear that any lack of compliance by militant groups will not deter operational responses. The minister reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to prioritize intelligence-driven actions to ensure stability and security along the frontier, with the support of both the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

This development comes amid ongoing efforts to counter terrorism and maintain peace in sensitive border regions, signaling that Pakistan will not tolerate threats to its territorial integrity.
