The True Post(Web News) Imam and preacher of the randMosque,Sheikh Yasser Al-Dosari, has issued a strong warning against the misuse of social media in his Friday sermon.
Imam Kaaba said that Muslims should verify any news before sharing it. He warned that fake fatwas and fabricated statements through fake or purchased accounts are spreading chaos in society and defaming scholars. Sheikh Al-Dosari said that everything published or shared on social media will have to be answered before Allah on the Day of Judgment. He described such accounts as dangerous that deliberately spread lies and create social chaos. He said that the misuse of smartphones is now promoting loneliness, jealousy and ingratitude instead of bringing people closer. Social media has become a source of fake lives and unnecessary comparisons that are giving rise to spiritual and social diseases. Imam Kaaba called fake fatwas and false propaganda against scholars part of an anti-Islam campaign and urged Muslims to be vigilant.
