Today is the longest day and shortest night of this year.

The True Post (Web News)Today, June 21, will be the longest day and shortest night of the year 2025.

According to astronomer Professor Dr. Muhammad Javed Iqbal, today the day will be 13 hours and 41 minutes long while the night will be 10 hours and 19 minutes long. After July 1, the duration of the day begins to gradually decrease and on September 22, the duration of the day and night becomes almost equal.

By the way, during the summer season, the days become longer and the nights shorter, but today, June 21, is the longest day of 2025 in the Northern Hemisphere.

It should be noted that as our Earth revolves around the Sun, at the time of the Solstice, the Sun is tilted towards the South Pole and away from the Northern Hemisphere, thus marking the beginning of winter here.

Because of this, the length of the day decreases, while in the summer it is reversed. In the northern hemisphere, the sunrise time will remain the same for the next three days, but the sunset time will change.

Meanwhile, the weather in Karachi has become pleasant after light drizzle in the early morning today, while the weather in the city will remain cloudy, however, there is a possibility of light drizzle during the day as well.

On the other hand, clouds have also set up camp in Lahore, the wind has reduced the intensity of the heat, and late-night rain in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and surrounding areas has broken the heat.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan during the next 24 hours. There is also a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
