Trade talks with Israel suspended, what do British parliamentarians say?

The True Post (Web News) Britain has suspended trade talks with Israel after British Foreign Secretary David Lammy called the blockade of Gaza morally wrong and unreasonable.

David Lammy told parliament that the Israeli government’s reprehensible actions and rhetoric were isolating the country from its friends and partners, adding that the Israeli ambassador had been summoned. Melanie Ward, Labour MP for Cowdenbeath and Kirkcaldy, said she welcomed the UK’s decision to suspend trade talks with Israel.
“I welcome today’s further steps, particularly on trade,” she told MPs. The fact that we are on the brink of genocide against the Palestinians is such a collective global failure, will the Foreign Secretary confirm the UK’s total opposition to Israeli plans to replace human rights NGOs and the UN with mercenaries?” she said. “If Israel does not back down from the threat of further, more significant, multilateral action in response to the important statement by the UK, France and Canada, can I ask what the red line is? We have been here before with the Rafah offensive, when the international community said it would stop Israel, but it did not, they said Gaza’s time was up.
In response, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said: “Let me be clear that this government opposes the Israeli model for aid.”
In London, Carla Denyer, co-leader of the Green Party of England and Wales in parliament, has called on the UK government to take concrete action against Netanyahu’s murderous regime. The Bristol Central MP, who is stepping down as leader, said the UN had warned that 14,000 children could die in the next 48 hours. “Concrete action against Netanyahu’s murderous regime is long overdue.” “We know this government is not ready to make a decision on genocide, but they have told us that they are constantly assessing the risk.
