Two Women Killed, Three Injured in Church Shooting in Kentucky

The True Post(Web News) Two women were killed and three others injured, including a state police officer, in a shooting incident that began near Bluegrass Airport and ended inside a Baptist church on Richmond Road in Lexington, Kentucky.

According to international media reports, the violence began when a state trooper attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle flagged by a license plate reader. The suspect shot and wounded the officer, then fled the scene by hijacking another vehicle.

The suspect later arrived at a church on the 3700 block of Bellwood Drive, where he opened fire on congregants, killing two women instantly and injuring two men. Emergency services transported the injured men to a nearby hospital, where one remains in critical condition and the other is in stable condition.

The deceased victims have been identified as women aged 72 and 32, according to media sources. The names of the victims will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Lexington police said preliminary investigations suggest the attacker may have had a personal connection to individuals inside the church. Law enforcement officers ultimately shot and killed the suspect during a confrontation. Authorities stated that the identity of the attacker will be disclosed after the family has been informed.
