The True Post(Web News) The United States has imposed new sanctions on 32 individuals and entities supporting Iran’s missile and drone programs.
According to the US Treasury Department, the individuals and entities targeted by these sanctions are located in Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, Turkey, Hong Kong, India, Germany and Ukraine. All of these elements were active through illicit procurement networks for Iran’s missile and drone programs.
The Treasury Department says these networks pose a threat to the United States and its allies in the Middle East and are also negatively impacting commercial activities in the Mediterranean. The United States has expressed its determination to continue to take steps with its allies to prevent the global impact of Iran’s missile and drone programs.
According to the US State Department, this decision is a continuation of the policies of former President Donald Trump, which are aimed at limiting Iran’s aggressive missile program and depriving the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of the resources that create instability in the region.
The Treasury Department further explained that these sanctions were imposed under Executive Order 13382, which targets individuals and entities associated with the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, while Executive Order 13224 (as amended) deals with the imposition of sanctions on terrorist organizations and their supporters. US officials say that this action against Iran is part of efforts to deter its growing military ambitions and maintain peace and stability in the region.
