Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by telephone with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indian counterpart Jaishankar, urging them to jointly reduce the recent tensions. The Pakistani Prime Minister offered a transparent and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

Marco Rubio urged the Indian Foreign Minister to play a role in reducing tensions, saying that Pakistani authorities are ready to cooperate in the investigation of the Pahalgam attack.
Regarding the talks between the two leaders, US State Department spokesperson Timmy Bruce said in a statement that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated America’s commitment to cooperation with India against terrorism and also expressed regret over the Pahalgam incident.
